For five years, I had the pleasure of working with Lexus Baltics, creating most of their print and outdoor materials for the Baltic States, including the recent 2022 Lexus International rebrand.
For a few years, I worked with one of the largest beverage manufacturers in the Baltic region, A. Le Coq, focusing mostly on packaging and print design. Projects included everything from merch to POS materials. My biggest achievement was probably refreshing and unifying the entire Alexander product line, one of Estonia's best-selling beer brands.
Recently, I had the opportunity to design some display screens for Red Bull. Nothing too fancy, but it moves a little and looks pretty cool.
For a short period, I worked on the social media content for Lidl Estonia. My duties primarily involved graphic design and photography, with the occasional motion graphics project. Fun fact— that Narva castle was traced from a photo and made from scratch.
About a decade ago, some of my closest friends started an underground event series called Bassiõhtu. Despite the event's obscurity, they gave me practically free rein to do whatever I saw fit with the graphic design. And boy, did I try everything I could think of. The project has lasted nearly a decade, and I have nothing but fond memories of the whole thing.
Sofa King is an even more obscure modern underground event series. I jumped on the opportunity to design some graphics and visual imagery for them, as they allowed me complete creative freedom. It gave me a great opportunity to work on my 3D skills and develop some truly engaging visuals.
Speakeasy was a tiny plywood bar in the Kopli neighborhood, run by the good folks at Põhjala Brewery. It operated sometime between 2014 and 2018 and is now run by the team from Burger Box. I had the good fortune to design some social media and print materials for the bar back when it was open. Portfolio-worthy material? You betcha!
TCBW Sessions was a festival event that Põhjala hosted at the plywood bar in Speakeasy during Tallinn Craft Beer Weekend. I'm including it here because of how fun and liberating it was to design for something you believe in, helping to create a cohesive visual identity for the event.
Back in 2013-2014, I worked on social media design for SEBE, Estonia's largest bus service operator, creating visuals for their social media content. A notable aspect here—at that time, Facebook only allowed 20% text on images, so every design needed to adhere to that rule. Go get your rulers—most of them comply!
SEBE brand & design by Identity.
Taavi Peterson & Üdi was a very obscure Estonian indie band founded by former Estonian Pop Idol contestant Taavi Peterson and drummer Risto Piibe. Way back in 2008, I helped them get their debut album, “Down Under,” designed and printed. Come to think of it, I also did the layout and print preparation for their second album, “Selges Eesti Keeles,” in 2012.
In 2015, I was politely asked by a friend to help design a logo for Ungru Guesthouse and Restaurant in Hiiumaa. We created the initial logo based on his sketches that same day. The image below shows the original sketch, and the one above shows some handmade lettering and the final logo, built around the brilliant Museo typeface by Jos Buivenga. Since I never got paid for the gig, it will forever be shamelessly displayed in my portfolio.
Hoop was a series of events organized by the Kelder crew from 2010 to 2011. In a bit of a surprise, the profits actually helped raise funds for club repairs. Unfortunately, the team got too busy with 9-to-5 commitments, and with the venue's demolition, we had to pull the plug on the series.
